Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Social Work Program is seeking applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position in Social Work at the Assistant Professor level.  The Social Work program is seeking an individual to join our accredited BSW program and contribute to the new Master of Social Work (MSW) program, with a specialization in gerontological social work. The MSW is currently in its third year of candidacy with CSWE. The successful candidate will have the ability to contribute during an exciting time of growth and opportunities.  The curriculum incorporates a commitment to social justice and diversity. 

Responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level in the social work programs; offering direct practice courses and other social work content areas; establishing a high quality research and publication record; advising students; supervising graduate students; participating in curriculum design; and providing professional service through community engagement and professional societies. 

Candidates are required to hold an MSW degree from an accredited social work program and a doctorate in social work or closely-related field.  A minimum of two (2) years post-MSW practice experience is required for this position. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered but must complete the degree by the end of the first year of employment. A demonstrated record of scholarship is required.  Research in health care, mental health and/or substance abuse is preferred.
