Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking applicants for a 9-month, tenure­ track position in Criminal Justice at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2020. The Criminal Justice program is one of the fastest growing programs on campus and currently serves over 500 students. The program offers a BS in Criminal Justice, including a specialization in forensic investigation, a MS in Criminal Justice with both a face-to-face and an on-line cohort. Criminal Justice is in the Department of Human Services in the College of Health and Human Services.

Responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level in the criminal justice programs; establishing a record of high quality research and publication; advising students; supervising graduate students; participating in curriculum design; and providing professional service through community engagement and professional societies. Responsibilities also include participation in collaborative and cross-disciplinary teaching, research and service.

Candidates are required to hold a PhD in Criminal Justice/Criminology or closely related field. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered but must complete the degree by the position start date. A Juris Doctorate degree alone does not serve as a qualification for this position. All areas of specialization will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of scholarship and teaching in corrections, courts, race, or victimology.
