The Department of Applied Statistics & Operations Research invites applications for an Assistant Professor position (full-time, tenure-track). The area of specialization preferred is Business Analytics. Start date is August 2020.

Successful candidate is expected to be an effective teacher and scholar.  They are expected to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to be productive in scholarly research.  The teaching requirement would be five 3-credit hour courses or equivalent per academic year and develop and modify quantitative courses either in person, on-line or a combination.

Faculty are also expected to develop and maintain an active program or research and scholarship in their domain of expertise as well as to continue to participate in University/professional service.

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. Sc.D. or equivalent) in analytics, data science, statistics, applied statistics, computer science, mathematics, operations research, management science or related field. ABDs will be accepted as long as the degree is completed by the start date.  Demonstrated record in teaching/scholarship/service.

The Applied Statistics and Operations Research Department at Bowling Green State University is seeking a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor to join our department of over 13 Applied Statisticians and Operations Research Faculty in August 2020. This faculty member will help support our undergraduate specialization in Business Analytics and Intelligence and minor in Applied Statistics as well as teach courses in various analytics related master’s programs including the Master’s of Science in Analytics, the Master’s of Statistics in Applied Statistics and the Master’s and Doctoral of Data Science. The normal teaching load for this position is five 3-credit courses (or equivalent) per academic year. Opportunities for research support is available and there is an expectation of professional development and University and professional service for all faculty members in our department.
