The Department of Applied Statistics & Operations Research invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (non tenure-track) renewable full-time position. Area of specialization within Business Calculus and Analytics courses. Start date is August 2020.

Successful Candidate is expected to be an effective teacher and teach a variety of undergraduate level courses especially in Business Calculus and analytics. The position will support our undergraduate specialization in Business Analytics and Intelligence and minor in Applied Statistics.

Master's Degree in analytics, data science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, management science or related field that has been completed by the start of the contract. Demonstrated record in teaching.

The Applied Statistics and Operations Research Department at Bowling Green State University is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor to join our department of over 13 Applied Statisticians and Operations Research Faculty in August 2020. While this faculty position is not on the tenure track, it does offer multi-year renewable contracts and is the type of position that half of our faculty have in the department. We are specifically looking to hire a faculty member who can help us teach Business Calculus and Analytics courses to a growing number of Business majors at BGSU. This role will specifically support our undergraduate specialization in Business Analytics and Intelligence and minor in Applied Statistics. Depending on interests and qualifications, there is also potential for teaching classes in one of several analytics related master’s programs including the Master’s of Science in Analytics, the Master’s of Statistics in Applied Statistics and the Master’s of Data Science. The normal teaching load for this position would be four 3-credit hour courses (or equivalent) per semester. Opportunities for curriculum development are also available and there is an expectation of professional development and University and professional service for all faculty members in our department.
