Assistant Professor of Jazz/Music Industry, Music Performance Studies, College of Musical Arts. Applied instrument specialization is flexible with preference for jazz bass. Tenure-track faculty position available August 2020.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied lessons, coaching and directing jazz ensembles, teaching jazz courses such as improvisation, history, and pedagogy, undergraduate and graduate recruiting, and advising. The successful candidate will maintain a current profile in jazz performance and pedagogy through state, regional and national activities and contribute to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University. Additional responsibilities to include teaching courses related to the commercial music industry curriculum, depending upon the background and experience of the candidate. Other duties may be assigned by the Chair or Dean depending upon the needs of the Department of Music Performance Studies and the College. 

1. Master's Degree and three years professional performance experience or Doctorate.
2. Minimum two years teaching experience at the collegiate level.
