Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking applicants for a 9-month tenure track position as a faculty member of a new BSN program at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, starting February 2021. The curriculum incorporates a commitment to nursing, health care, diversity, leadership, development of clinical judgment, QSEN, ANA, and professional growth.  

Facilitates learning by assessing the learning needs of the student, planning for the achievement of educational outcomes, implementing student learning activities and evaluating student achievement. Promotes learner development and socialization to the role of the nurse by providing resources to diverse learners and initiating appropriate referrals for students with academic difficulties. Participates effectively in continuous quality improvement, curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes reflective of evidence-based practice, the school philosophy, and the university mission and vision.  Provides leadership for change to promote an innovative and effective educational environment (concept-based curriculum).  Provides direction to preceptors who are supervising nursing students in the clinical area (if applicable). Utilizes teaching methods which are varied and appropriate for the learning outcomes desired.  Coordinate the BSN courses (theory) in collaboration with the skills lab, simulation lab, and clinical coordinators.  

A terminal degree in nursing or related field (PhD, EdD, DNP). If the terminal degree is not in nursing, the master’s degree or bachelor’s degree must be in nursing from an accredited program. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered but must complete the degree by the end of the first year of employment. Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and an active, valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Ohio (if the license is not in Ohio, the candidate must be eligible for and obtain an Ohio license by the hire date).  Preference will be given to applicants holding a PhD, EdD, or DNP, a Certified Nurse Educator, previous teaching experience in a BSN program, experience in an academic setting, experience with board of nursing rules/regulations, experience with accreditation through systematic evaluation, a clearly defined research area, and a track record of successfully publishing research in peer reviewed journals.
