Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking applicants for three 9-month non-tenure track positions as faculty members of a new BSN program at the Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor level, starting August 2021. The curriculum incorporates a commitment to nursing, health care, diversity, leadership, development of clinical judgment, QSEN, ANA, and professional growth. This position is reviewed annually for renewal.

Facilitates learning in the clinical, skills laboratory, and/or simulation laboratory setting by assessing the learning needs of the student, planning for the achievement of educational outcomes, implementing student learning activities and evaluating student achievement. Promotes learner development and socialization to the role of the nurse by providing resources to diverse learners and initiating appropriate referrals for students with academic difficulties. Participates effectively in continuous quality improvement, curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes reflective of evidence-based practice, the school philosophy, and the university mission and vision. Provides leadership for change to promote an innovative and effective educational environment. Provides direction to teaching assistants and preceptors who are supervising nursing students in the clinical/lab/classroom area (if applicable). Utilizes teaching methods which are varied and appropriate for the learning outcomes desired.  

 

Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree with a major in nursing; if the master’s degree is not a major in nursing, a BSN is required from an accredited program (or completion of a master’s degree by date of hire). At least two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and an active, valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the United States of America (an Ohio license must be obtained prior to hire date).

Preference will be given to a Certified Nurse Educator, previous teaching experience in a BSN program, experience in an academic setting, and having a terminal degree or enrolled in a terminal degree program.
