Assistant Teaching Professor - School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies - Exercise Science-Sports Medicine

Non-tenure track: One year, non-renewable qualified rank faculty member in Exercise Science – Sports Medicine, School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies.  Primary Function:  Teach undergraduate courses in the Exercise Science – Sports Medicine Program. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach undergraduate core courses within the exercise science program, e.g., therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, orthopedic assessment, general medical conditions and care and prevention of injuries
2. Advise undergraduate Exercise Science majors
3. Supervise field experiences in Exercise Science
4. Perform service activities in the Program, School, University and Profession.
Minimum Professional Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science/Kinesiology or related field
2. BOC Certification. Must have at least 2 years of post-BOC certification Athletic Training Experience
3. Eligible for Ohio Athletic Training Licensure and earn within the first year of employment
4. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of CAATE accreditation requirements
5. Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction with evidence of effective teaching at the university level
6. Expertise in additional area(s) (e.g., CPR & ECC instructor, research design/statistics, and/or measurement & evaluation) is desirable
 
Preferred Professional Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate in Athletic Training, Exercise Science/Kinesiology or closely related field
2. Teach graduate courses in the Master of Athletic Training program
3. Qualify for Graduate Faculty status

Exercise Science

The exercise science program at Bowling Green State University prepares individuals for leadership positions in the growing field of exercise science. It features two specializations: exercise programming and sports medicine.

Students may also complete an additional portion (or all) of the specialization not selected as their primary major specialization. In this manner, students can tailor their degree to become optimally prepared for their future vocation.

Athletic Training

The Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program offers a cutting-edge curriculum designed to enhance clinical decision-making. In this program students gain expertise in evidence-based practice to improve patient care and clinical outcomes. Throughout the program students will work with healthcare clinicians in interprofessional settings to expand your clinical knowledge and skills.
