Responsible for documenting and analyzing business processes and data systems for the Office of Residence Life.  Provide system support for the housing assignment data system and certain areas of the BGSU’s PeopleSoft system including but not limited to: maintenance of setup tables, testing of updates and customizations, and the development of ad hoc reports. The incumbent will research, document and find solutions for issues involving the PeopleSoft system (CSS), and research, document and recommend solutions to address data needs not met by the housing system or PeopleSoft system. Troubleshoot problems and issues with student accounts and records.   In addition, the incumbent interfaces with other offices/departments in regards to the system(s).

  • Responsible for updating tables for Residence Life in both the housing system and CSS system
  • Extract information from systems(FMS, CSS, and the Web Reporting Library, StarRez housing system, Lenel, etc.) through the creation and execution of queries in response to request for information within Residence Life,  BGSU and from the general public in pursuant to the Ohio Public Records Act.
  • Handles system testing and systematic data review, creates testing scripts, writes and conducts testing plans
  • Becomes the Residence Life lead for various upgrades, installation of new components and phases of BGSU’s ERP system under the direction of the Director of Residence Life
  • Investigation of alternative solutions (work around) for identified issues/gaps in CSS system and/or housing system
  • Documentation of processes and procedures support data workflow from Residence Life to other systems for processing and reporting
  • Reviews business practices and processes as it relates to the system, suggest changes for increased efficiency/effectiveness
  • Participates in the liaison role for Residence Life in systems related actions
  • Review data for accuracy, as well as troubleshooting on concerns involving both students and other stakeholders      

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree required.  Degree must be conferred at the time of application.

The following experience is required:

  • 2 years’ work experience in a business office setting working with business processes and procedures or 2 years work experience with web-based information systems supporting Financials, HR, Payroll, or Records and Registration.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology

The following experience is preferred:

  • Familiarity with processes related to higher education.
  • Crystal reports experience




Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Pay Grade 354. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
