Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position in Criminal Justice at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2022. The Criminal Justice program is one of the largest programs on campus and currently serves over 500 students. The program offers a B.S. in Criminal Justice, including a specialization in forensic investigation, and a M.S. in Criminal Justice with both a face-to-face and an online program. Criminal Justice is in the Department of Human Services in the College of Health and Human Services. The Department of Human Services also includes the Gerontology and Social Work programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Criminal Justice program; establishing a record of high-quality research and publication; advising students; supervising graduate students; participating in curriculum design; and providing service through community engagement and professional societies. Responsibilities also include participation in collaborative and cross-disciplinary teaching, research, and service.

 

Qualifications: Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice/Criminology or closely related field. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered but must complete the degree by the position start date. A Juris Doctorate degree alone does not serve as a qualification for this position. All areas of specialization will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching and scholarship in criminology, courts, crime mapping, cybercrime, race/ethnicity, or victimology.
