Graphic Designer
Public Relations, Marketing and Communications
BGSU Main Campus

Provide graphic design and development of materials that will contribute to the overall brand, identity, and marketing strategy of BGSU. These materials include the design of print collateral, and web/social/multimedia assets (e.g., includes, but not limited to, direct mail campaigns, brochures, flyers, posters, invitations, environmental graphics, and web/social/multimedia graphics.) Additionally, the graphic designer will, as needed, provide support to the digital design team to create html/CSS development solutions.

  • Designs marketing materials with a high level of creativity under the guidance of the Senior Graphic Designers to meet specific marketing and brand strategy goals for University audiences (e.g., faculty, staff, students, donors, prospective students, alumni, and general public.)
  • Collaborates with Brand Strategist on design projects to establish deadlines, obtain client direction, gather assets and provide proofs from conception to completion. Routes proofs to Brand Strategist for final approval.
  • Provides assets and HTML/CSS assistance to digital designers/developers, social media designers, photographers/videographers as needed
  • Communicates with vendors to provide job specifications/deadlines/art files and obtains estimates.
  • Completes professional development opportunities, as requested, to keep current with industry trends and technology (e.g., HTML/CSS skills and/or other opportunities that will benefit the department)
  • Maintains shared files in established file sharing system.

Minimum Requirements

BA, BS or BFA - Design/Art related area of study, Bachelor’s in Fine Art, Design, Graphic Design, VCT preferred.  Degree must be conferred at the time of application.

The following experience is required:

  • 2 years graphic design experience.
  • 1-year Adobe creative suite experience.


Preferred experience:

  • 1-year html experience




Full-time administrative staff position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Administrative pay grade 353. Full benefits package available.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Graphic Design experience necessary.
  • Organization, problem solving knowledge and creativity in all projects using up-to-date Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Has the ability to multi-task and show efficient time management skills.
  • HTML/CSS experience a plus
