The Department of Chemistry at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a full-time nontenure-track, non-renewable Assistant Teaching Professor position. The successful candidate will provide instruction at the undergraduate level in courses associated with the General Chemistry or Health Sciences Chemistry (GOB) sequences and in survey courses in Organic Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. 

 

Primary Responsibilities
- Teach lower-division courses associated with the General Chemistry or Health Sciences Chemistry (GOB Chemistry) sequences.
- Teach undergraduate survey courses in organic chemistry and/or biochemistry.
- Provide service at the department, college, and university levels.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline (e.g. Photochemical Sciences, etc.).  ABD will be considered as long as the requirements for the degree are completed by August 2022
- Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness (e.g., positive teaching evaluations) at the undergraduate level, which may include experience as a course or laboratory Teaching Assistant.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Established background of effective teaching (e.g., positive teaching evaluations) at the college level as an instructor of record
- Research experience in an area of biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry is one of 17 academic units in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department currently has 16 full-time faculty members and offers an American Chemical Society approved BS Chemistry degree, with a specialization in Biochemistry available. A vibrant and interdisciplinary doctoral program in Photochemical Sciences is overseen by the Center for Photochemical Sciences.
