TITLE: Assistant Professor to teach and perform research in robotics: Department of Engineering Technologies. Bowling Green State University.
POSITION: Full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred starting date is August 7, 2023.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses and conduct research in the applied computer software and hardware integration with applications to mechatronics and robotics systems. The desired fields for the candidate’s research program include, but are not limited to, (1) humanoid robots, (2) machine vision, (3) artificial Intelligence for robotics, (4) robot programming, and (5) smart manufacturing. The individual will help to continue to develop the curriculum to ABET accreditation standards. Individuals with interests in the electronics for robotics and robotics in electronic manufacturing are encouraged to apply to the cross-appointment position (Link).
Conduct research that leads to peer-reviewed publications in relevant areas; Conduct research that is supported by external funding; Reach out, interact, and partner with industry; Provide appropriate service to the department, college, university, and the profession; Engage in a leadership role for the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree in, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, manufacturing engineering or a very closely related discipline with evidence of experience from courses, work, and/or research that is related to robotics is required. Individuals who reasonably expect to complete their Ph.D. before the start date of the contract (August 7, 2023) will be considered. Evidence of peer-reviewed publications in relevant research areas
