Position: Full-time, Qualified Rank Faculty (Renewable) Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of Construction Management, School of the Built Environment. Start Date August 7, 2023.
Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to: 1) Teach undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Science in Construction Management degree program and participate in undergraduate curriculum development; 2) Mentor undergraduate students; 3) Perform service to the school, college, and university. Service activities and efforts will focus primarily on collaborative partnerships between the Construction Management Department, the student organizations, business, industry, and government. Will Initiate and coordinate outreach activities with construction companies for the purpose of educational interaction with our students and development of financial support.
Minimum Qualifications: 1) Applicants must hold a Master’s level degree in any one of the following areas: Construction Management; Construction Engineering; Civil Engineering; Business Administration; Architecture; or a comparable master’s degree; 2) Applicants must have a minimum of five years of construction management-related industry/professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Experience and ability to successfully teach construction management courses; 2) Experience with cross-disciplinary teaching and service efforts in architecture and construction management; 3) Professional level certification/s in one or more areas such as: Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Certified Construction Manager (CCM); American Institute of Constructors (AIC) Level 2; Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP); Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP); Passive House Institute US (PHIUS); Design Build Institute of America (DBIA); 4) Licensure as a registered surveyor, professional engineer, or registered architect; 5) Knowledge of digital software applications in the industry/profession (Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.).
