Educational Services Coordinator

Expand and develop WBGU-TV’s education outreach program by:

  • Creating, managing and facilitating educational outreach projects that improve educational standards, curriculum assessment, instructional strategies and educational environments in Northwest Ohio.
  • Developing and presenting State Department of Education-approved professional development in-services to education professionals.
  • Building collaborative partnerships in the community and university to increase the success, impact and sustainability of educational outreach programs.
  • Create, manage and facilitate educational outreach projects.  (Includes developing and presenting professional development in-services).
  • Build and maintain collaborative educational outreach initiatives with BGSU, local schools, educational and social service agencies, community organizations and state education and federal education departments.
  • Represent WBGU-TV and BGSU at educational outreach events.  (For example, presents workshops at conferences).
  • Hire, train and supervise contracted professional development providers, educators and student-educational outreach assistants to meet outreach goals.
  • Manage budget and participant data related to grants on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Research and write grant proposals to fund educational outreach initiatives
  • Complete grant reports related to grant progress on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Supports clients by addressing their needs, answering inquiries about professional development and children’s programming
  • Shares information about projects and station concerns monthly with supervisor.
  • Attends professional development conferences and training.
  • Corresponds with staff for planning station initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood education or closely related field (Education, Human Development and Family Studies) is required in order to provide Ohio Department of Education-approved professional development for clients.  Note:  The ability to provide Ohio Department of Education-approved training is a major function of this position. Successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree conferred at the time of application. 

The following experience is required:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Care and Education field; One year experience working directly with children


Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 355. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • The ability to create and manage educational outreach projects that focus on improving educational standards, curriculum assessment, instructional strategies and the educational environment.
  • The knowledge to develop and present specialized, research-based workshops and materials in response to grant funded projects and for specialized groups relating to early childhood, child development, literacy education, parenting, elementary education, PBS children’s programming and other education topics as assigned. 
  • The skills to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and database software to complete daily tasks.
